Prime minister Narendra Modi office (PMO India) has informed the nation by a tweet that pm Modi will address the country tomorrow at 10 am. Tomorrow is the last day of 21-day long lockdown which is anticipated to be extended. States like Maharashtra, West Bengal, Punjab, Odisha have already extended the lockdown till 30th April. Cases in India are on rapid surge even after strict implementation of 21 days nationwide lockdown. The number of registered positive cases till date has surpassed 9000, and the tally of deaths has crossed 300.
Among several states, Maharashtra has the most severe impact of the pandemic as the state’s tally has gone past 2000 alone. The lockdown is expected to be extended, which can only be confirmed after the prime minister addresses the nation tomorrow. The country of 1,3 billion people is under strict lockdown, which is the most massive lockdown exercise on the planet. Indian economy is set to experience significant distress due to this lockdown.
