Muttiah Muralitharan said I am lucky and fortunate to be inducted first for Sri Lanka. Still, many great players have played for this nation, and I am sure sooner or later, they also will be inducted in the ICC hall of fame. He mentioned cricketers like Desilva, Sanath Jayasuriya, Mahela Jawardhnae, Kumar Sangakkara would also be enlisted in this reputed hall of fame category. Out of his many staggering performances, he rated his 16 wicket haul in 1998 in England as his best because he found this performance responsible for his name on the global map. He also said performance like this had forced worlds to take us seriously as a Test-playing nation. Well, we wish happy birthday to Muttiah Muralitharan.
