The Board of control for cricket in India is still optimistic to hold the famous IPL (Indian premier league) in the months of August and September. The board is trying to wipe our other scheduled events and arrange a time to hold IPL in the mid-season. Initially, the board decided to suspend the league which was supposed to take place from the end of March. In a meeting recently held the board has contemplated the situation. The board is optimistic to end the coronavirus pandemic by august, earlier the president of board Sourav Ganguly had announced to contribute Rs. 50, crore in Indian currency to the prime minister’s relief funds.
The board is worried about the event as it generates most of the revenues for the board. BCCI is the richest cricketing board in the world and IPL is one of the prominent leagues in the world. Therefore, the board was determined to uphold and organize the league in august- September as per sources.
